| As a follow-up to the heli-borne survey, the Corporation announced on May 8th, 2006 that it had discovered copper, zinc, platinum and other minerals at its Halkirk-Watten project from a prospecting and surface sampling program. This program resulted in the discovery of a showing of copper-zinc-platinum mineralization over a large EM conductor with a coincident magnetic anomaly. Grab samples from this showing returned values of up to 0.589 % copper, 0.518 % zinc; 0.106 g/t platinum; 0.068 g/t palladium; 0.085 g/t gold; 1.0 % titanium; 7.88 % aluminum; 0.082 % nickel; and 0.043 % cobalt.
As a result of the positive results from this prospecting and surface sampling program, the Corporation called for one of its own diamond drill rigs to be moved from Red Lake, ON to Fort Frances, ON immediately with a first phase diamond drill program targeting this new discovery scheduled to commence in a few days.
On May 10th, 2006, the Corporation announced that it had commenced a minimum 1,000 metre first phase diamond drilling program. The first phase diamond drilling program will test sections of a 3 kilometre long coincident airborne magnetic / EM anomaly where nickel-copper-platinum group element massive sulphide mineralization exists on surface.
On June 19th, 2006, the Corporation reported that the 1,000 metre Phase I drilling program, as first announced on May 10th, 2006, had just been completed at its Halkirk-Watten “North Rock” area project. The Phase I drilling program was designed to provide initial indications of the multi-minerals present in one of the many EM conductors with coincident magnetic anomalies found on the property. This program represented the first phase of drilling by the Corporation on this property and showed good potential given the various metals discovered – Zinc (Zn), Copper (Cu), Platinum (Pt), Gold (Au), Nickel (Ni), and Cobalt (Co). This first phase of diamond drilling has yielded up to 0.8759 % Zn; 0.2172 % Cu; 0.1161 % Ni; 0.077 g/t Pt; 0.161 g/t Au; and 0.0543 g/t Co from different drill holes.
